If the wine is classified by color, it can be roughly divided into three types, that is, red wine, white wine and pink wine.
From the perspective of world production, red wine accounts for nearly 90% of the volume.
The grape varieties used to make wine can be roughly divided into two categories according to their color. A class of varieties with blue-purple skin, we call them red grape varieties. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and the like that we often hear are all red grape varieties. One is the varieties with yellow-green skin, we call them white grape varieties.
Whether it is a red grape variety or a white grape variety, their flesh is colorless. Therefore, when red wine is brewed, the red grape varieties are crushed and fermented together with the skins. During fermentation, the color in the skin is naturally extracted, which is why red wine is red. White wine is made by pressing white grape varieties and fermenting them.
Historically, the volume of standard wine bottles was not uniform. It was not until the 1970s that the European Community set the size of the standard wine bottle at 750 ml in order to promote standardization.
This 750ml standard volumetric flask is generally accepted internationally.
